Politics is just really, really interesting at the moment and about to become a discipline underneath philosophy.

After identity politics, it'll be less adversarial. I think for alt left are waking up to the fact their politics and ideology is designed to cause animosity and bigotry for the sake of sowing revolution. When this is just common knowledge, those left will be kind of like the few, genuine neonazis that are doing everything I accuse the left of to anyone they feel is weak.

I can relate OP. These last months especially I can't stop constantly checking Twitter to see the latest liberal outrage.

I think it's partly the fact that we get the news hours to days faster than anybody else.

News breaks first here, then on Twitter, then Reddit, then Facebook, and then sometime later the next day, it's on TV.

Study roman military tactics.
Build things out of wood.
Join a gun club and/or go to the shooting range.
Make sure your wardrobe isn't tacky. Have some boots, cargo pants, and outdoor gear for emergencies. Throw your sneakers and branded tshirts away.

Also, rest assured you will never be "out of the loop" for very long, even if you're gone for a week. It's easy to get caught up on happenings, so don't be afraid to shut down your computer and just walk away. You may have a backlog of things-i-wanna-research-but-don't-have-the-time-for like me, but that's okay. get that clutter out of your mind and do something different.
