There's no definitive proof that Thomas Jefferson even fathered a child with Hemings, and certainly no proof of him being a rapist. The people who act like the founding fathers were monsters for holding slaves have a very narrow from a comfortable 21st century academic echo chamber perspective. If you start tearing down every monument that was related to an injustice or perceived injustice, you won't have many left.
