>Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies) is an Internet adage that asserts that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Hitler approaches 1." that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or his deeds.
For at least 27 years it's been observable that people eventually get tired of arguing and try to win by declaring your opponent a nazi. Obviously the time it takes for one to play the Nazi card has decreased significantly. It's always been part of the internet because you can say whatever crazy shit you want with no need to back it up. The problem being it's leeched into everyday life and all but taken over social media and the msm.
It seems that now there isn't even a conversation that takes place. It's automatically assumed those that dissent from mainstream opinion are inherently a nazi of some variety who should be exiled from society lest they continue to cause panic attacks and trembling.
Why are people so short of logic, honesty, and critical thinking when engaging in public discourse? To the point it's become like a playground name calling battle and whoever can make the worst name stick wins.
