A term coined so the astroturfed "Antifa" movement would have a solid enemy to vent their anger over Trump and whatever else happens to bother them at the moment. This is specifically done to create civil insurrection as grounds for removing the head of government and locking down permanent control.
Various figures who show up suddenly and identify as "alt right leaders" are instigators or at best idiot opportunists. This violence will continue to escalate, I think.
