The event in California a few months back, the one that happened because Ann Coulter's was canceled, is a far better model. Essentially a private event, with space carved out and what amounted to a defensive perimeter. The goal was to protest an oppressive tactic used by our enemies - censorship at universities. People who went off message and displayed their power level were shut down by friendlies.
