As an outsider looking in, does it seem like everyone is massively overreacting to this?

I mean, 70 people get slaughtered by the truck of peace and the average response is to just let it go as a one off incident even though it's clearly not

Then one girl gets killed from a car at an alt-right (neo-nazi according to the media) rally and suddenly every mayor and organization is banding together for an absolute zero tolerance policy? I'm not trying to suggest that this is a setup or anything silly like that, but it feels like every lefty is is ecstatic that they now finally have a martyr they can justify some piece of all their wild rantings with
