From what I can tell with the different angles, Antifa was being uppity and stormed his car. He overreacted and intentionally drove through the crowd, probably thinking they would get out of his way and not realizing a car was right behind them.

It looks too much like other protest videos where the crowd swarms the car, and the car speeds through to get away.
