You can combine maths, english, physics and chemistry already in this project.

I went to public school from 1st to 6th and ended up getting home schooled the second half of 6th grade.
There was a Christian home schooling organization that I went to where we'd meet twice a week and turn in our homework and have classes with other kids in a church. The kids were really nice and we played war-hammer and Gameboy advance in the dining area.
After 6th grade I went to a private Christian school for 1 year and then returned to public school in eighth grade.

The thing is that if you're living in an area where you feel the need to home school your kid, it's not somewhere you need to be bringing them up anyway and you should consider moving.
I see this all the time, my own mother included. Otherwise perfectly attentive and loving parents put absolutely no stock in something that should be common sense, "if something happened to us, if my kid's prospects are going to somehow be limited to his/her hometown, if he/she one day found himself/herself penniless and scared and we were nowhere to be found, could this child still succeed and still live a happy life?
