For instance Bavarians would generally have brown, auburn or black hair as compared to blonde. Just for the record, Bavaria is what everyone thinks German culture is. Lederhosen, stone beer mugs, polka. It should also be noted Bavaria is the southern most part of Germany. The more north you go, the blonder and more boring it gets.

I think you could describe europe like this.

North = Blonde/Boring Hard/Hard working
Central = Blonde/brown/little more fun/hardworkers and lazy bastards
South = Brown/Black/Fun as hell/Lazy

What I am trying to say is there is a trend in most societies. The hotter it is the lazier people are (due to weather), but the funner it is (always thirsty - more booze, booze equals fun).

I would say they drink alot more beer. Especially places like the Czech Republic and Poland.

However Northerners aren't drinking because of the weather. I believe northerners drink hard because 1) they work hard. 2) its boring or 3) both.

In the south peoole enjoy life more. The atmosphere is slower and more relaxing.

Just for the record, I prefer the attitudes and relate more with people from the north...I just have an understanding and appreciation for the south. (My heritage is British and French btw.)

The thing is that alcoholism and being drunk isn't frowned upon here. Drinking a lot is encouraged here, whereas in my impression being drunk is disregarded as a shame in the south. The reason why alcoholism is socially accepted here is due to the industrialization and the shitty weather. Pub and bar culture really exploded in the industrial age so I definetely think there is a corelation
