"I denounce the car attack - violence is not the answer and he should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law - but it shouldn't take away from the fact that the government and police of Charlottesville made some seriously bad and potentially illegal decisions in how they handled the rally. The views espoused at the rally, i.e. peaceful white nationalism, are also fundamentally reasonable and should be treated as such. Attempts to discredit the march or white nationalism in general on account of the car attack are invalid and dishonest."
