This is really the best thing the president could say to avoid escalation of this kind of happening. Both sides need to calm down and talk, trump could organize some kind of forum to discuss what happened here allow both sides to speak. I think most americans would appreciate a display of free speech even if they don't agree with one side. Likewise the average american will condemn any group that uses violence either in protest or counter protest.
