So I just watch pic related out of sheer nostalgia. Nice little movie with a really interesting moral, which was (I guess) pointed at the rise of cosmetic surgery. In hindsight it is also a good critic of transhumanism and convey conservative values (in the end).

Then I looked at Robert Zemeckis wikipedia page and discovered he was a democrat and a family planning supporter. And I wondered, how the fuck are people, who used to be leftists during their youth, are not disgusted by the modern ideals of leftism?

I'm not talking about leftist activists here but leftist normies who just bought the leftists crap a couple of decades ago. How can they for instance make movies where a character refuses a faustian deal and find solace in family life then think that modern leftism is okay?

TLDR how can old fucks who lived in times of common decency tolerate modern left?
