Blatant lies hillbillies tell themselves. I've lived in both big cities and the country/small towns. Rural ""people"" are fucking cunts from hell: selfish, stupid, small-minded, quick to anger, all the shitty character flaws you could imagine. City people are the opposite: friendly, helpful, compassionate, etc. I have never felt unsafe in a city. I feel like I'm going to get shot on an almost daily basis in the shit small town I live in that's nearly 100% white. The only reason I don't live in a city right now is because I feel a need to be close to nature (which rural hicks just love to destroy).

Small towns have a bigger sense of the community than the people in the city.
Hence the reason why they're generally more hostile to foreigners. City folks develop the 1 drop by the sea mentality, leading them to be apathetic to their "community" to the point where anyone can be part of that individualist community.

I also lived in both and though there are down sides in small towns like the gossips(though it's a good thing, you have to behave like the group or you'll be frowned upon) people from the cities are still the biggest sissies.
