Do you know the Fermi paradox?
I think the resolution is every advanced civilization develops a regressive left that causes it's downfall.

Or they get boxed. We are on bring of developing of automated crop harvesting, hell automating everything and just pluging oruselves into simulations.
Literal brain in the jar.

my two cents on the matter
we don't see galactic spanning civilizations because that's hard work in comparison to digitising one consciousness and living in virtual reality where you can be a god
in comparison, having generation ships setting colonies with slim chances of survival at the start do not seems that appealing
or of course self-destruction

At some point every civilization has to question itself, if it continues through a depredatory patadigm or stops before leaving charred remains to the next generations.
But yeah people that dye their hairs it's the problem.

Love this guy.
But again jar in the box is most likley.
We will soon enter that era.
I remeber one chinese cartoon, when 99% of populations lives in simulation. Space station in lagrange point between moon and earth.
Exiled from Paradise or something.

A5 confirmed this in his Origins of Humanity thread.

Lol the reality is Fermi had a narrow understanding of population growth and the difficulties+motivations for space travel.
Fermi's paradox isn't real.
