Are you fucking retarded. The shekel a few years back was at 4:1, 4 shekels for a dollar. Its approaching 3. Thats amazing considering how small and young israel is that's astounding. Also, israel spends 30% of all its government spending on the military.

It's not about how much the US dollar is worth, but how much of it people make and how much of it people need to live on.

In the US, for example, a can of Coke costs a dollar at an average vending machine.
Here in Canada, where I live, a vending machine sells it for a dollar.

I make usually 1000$ CAD a week.
The average American makes 850$ a week.
Converting what I make per week into USD, I'd be making 736$.. So I'm theoretically poor, and I make a lot more money than most Canadians who make usually minimum wage.

Once the toonie came out all the vending machines switched from loonies to toonies here. Some laundry mats still use just loonies and quarters but the newer machines use toonies.
