The decrease in The number of catholics can be the cause of the increasing degeceracy among America and Europe?

Or, or people rejected the authoritarian rule of the Catholic Church and became degenerate as a way to rebel against the Catholic restrictions. I work with a man who was excommunicated for getting a divorce. He became a Methodist. Remember, were not discussing religion in general.
>>
>>137010266
I don't like the direction the Catholic church has gone down. They're cucked politically and only care about financial matters like mega churches in the US with TV preachers. I don't mind if people are Catholic but I prefer to be non-denominational. In general I think people not having God in life leaves them few reasons to be morally healthy and more likely to do degenerate behavior, so sort of yes.
>>

The degeneration among the cristians has decreased. Also in Amerika, it's mostly the pablos who are catholics. Where is the bad thing, I can't see?

The fuck are you talking about, mr fag on flag? Christianity grows, it's whites that are dimishing in numbers. Your metizo brethen is only getting more numerous.
>>
>>137011760
The difference is that catholic priests spend years reading and studying to say what they say.
>>
>>137012462
So do pastors. What's your point?
>>
>>137012608
No fucking way. Anyone can be a pastor of a protestant church.
>>
>>137012608
Dude. I have no love for catholic church but there is a big fucking diference between a pastor and a catholic priest. Aside of extensive biblical knowlege priests are versed in canonical law, theology, philosophy and history.
>>
>>137010266
The cause of the decrease in Catholicism probably has something to do with the whole going to church experience. Holy shit is it boring. Takes forever and you get absolutely nothing of value out of it. Listen to a random verse, sing a song, another verse, another song, eat a wafer, drink some wine, verse, local goings on and finally gtfo.

In 1309 AD, the seat of the papacy was moved from Rome to Avignon (France). In total, 7 Popes were seated in Avignon until 1377 AD when the seat was moved back to Rome. The entire justification for papal supremacy is based on the claim that there is an unbroken line of Bishops of Rome from St. Peter... except that line was broken during the Avignon Papacy over 700 years ago. The Papist Church is a false church.

Often people quit going for one big reason "the holier than thou" issue. You see people that are higher ups in churches (pastor/priest, deacons, etc.) will say "you are doing x thing and it's bad you are awful" then they turn around and do something awful. Prime example of this: preacher at a church I used to go to recently became a pastor at a different one. Turns out he was a rampant alcoholic and beat his wife and kids.
Another example: a different church I went to threw out the old pastor (nothing wrong with him, I'm guessing they didn't like him because he took the teachings of the Bible seriously unlike them), and got a new guy. He proceeded to sleep and I believe run off with another members wife.
And this is the problem, they get mad at you for something then do something worse. It's why I've quit going to church, still a Christian though

Lutherans have separated into liberal (ELCA) and conservative (Missouri Synod, others) churches. The RC can't split off like that, because that's not how Catholicism works, so all the liberal/conservative disputes happen in house. Be assured conservative Catholic priests/laypeople exist and are overrepresented among younger generations.

Qualifications to become a Pastor according to the King James Holy Bible.

3 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

Will everybody please just refer to the Bible for the qualifications of a pastor instead of making something up...

God doesn't ordains Pope's or even use the term Catholic. There is salvation found outside of the Catholic Church. It's called Jesus's Christ and believing only through faith by grace you are saved through him. All that believe on him shall not perish but have ever lasting life. Your going to church, paying tithe, helping somebody on the street who's homeless doesn't save you. And the Bible says there is no one righteous no not one. It's by putting your simple child like faith in Jesus that saves you from your sins.

Now that's not to say if we chose to disobey or "transgress" the law we are subject to chastizement. God will punish us here on Earth but that's not going to kick us out of his family. Just like your dad punishes you when you misbehave I believe God does the same. He is the father to his kids.

>All charity, good will and morals in the Western world proceeds from Christianity.
And here we see a Christian lying through his teeth, most likely in some desperate attempt to curb favor from the remainder of the board. The other option, that he is unaware of the values of those who came before, from the values of democracy from the Greeks to the honor seen in several western mythologies, is simply idiotic, though not impossible.

Mostly their ludicrously obnoxious behavior throughout the past century and a score. The same unceasing behavior that not only lead to the prohibition, a movement that in the end failed and only burdened the United States' budget with the need for busting down on bootleggers, but also several other protests, such as the DnD satanic panic of the 80s and the video game violence pandemic of the 90s. These actions had painted both themselves and, by extension, much of Christianity in the very light you often see in the mainstream media. Taking with them not only other Christians, but also much of the Conservative party (before the neo-cons) and perhaps even a good chunk of right leaning economic thoughts with it. Further adding fuel to the fire that led to the current situation of SJWs and Marxists that we see today.
I'm not saying they were the sole cause of today's degeneracy, but I am saying we would have to wait another 15-30 years before we got to today's condition at best.

Unironically not knowing that your conception of "good" is foundationally Christian.

Also, Jesus gave us two commands:
1. Love the Lord thy God
2. Love thy neighbour.

The FIRST being the chief commandment with the latter being impossible without the former.

Another point:

Baruch Spinoza a (((Dutch))) Philosopher claimed what you are claiming, that the new testament simply amount to "loving thy neighbor:
He was a pantheist and forerunner to thinkers like Nietzsche and all post moderns who are dismantling society.

So, to conclude, your little platitude of "just be a gud widdle person ok guys" is precisely what is wrong with our world for loving ones neighbour is impossible without first loving God.

I agree with you, degeneracy and vice, sin and corruption, these things have been seen in every single religion, belief, and cult since the dawn of time. The only variance usually being how the degeneracy manifests. For the Jews, it was an unfathomable avarice that, left untempered by virtues of honesty and diligence, had turned them into what they are now. The Muslims are wrathful people without the necessary control and temperment to make use of that wrath. Hell, I'll admit that there are many smug atheists in society, causing some to be irritating at the best of times. Of course there are members of these groups that shun the vices of there peers or at least don't have them be as strong, and they may even make up the majority at times. However, their is still a sizable population of these groups that is large enough to paint a negative picture in the eye of the public.
However, the previous post was about the Fundamentalists and the Evangelicals in particular, and my problems with them.

Do you know what Pharisees and Catholics have in common? They both follow the traditions of men and altered the Ten Commandments!
Mark 7:1-13King James Version (KJV)
7 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

In order to escape persecution from the Catholic Church, secret societies were formed such as the Masons and it was these good Masons who founded the United States of America. The U.S.A. was founded on the principles of the Renaissance and Reformation, it reflected a "New Order of The Ages" where we the people were sovereign and no one was sovereign over us.
In the U.S. there was no sovereign king, queen or pope. The government was meant to be the servant of the people.

Yes, the Catholicism was a major force in fighting degeneracy through the 1950s. The most notable example would be the Catholic influence in Hayes-era Hollywood.

Things kind of went off the rails after that, so even though you still have the same Catholic moral teaching, it's now a marginalized force, not the culturual behemoth it was before. I don't see that changing any time soon, but the liberal Catholics, like all those who imbibe destructive, degenerate ideologies will die off sooner or later.

>Ignatius of Loyola, a Basque nobleman from the Pyrenees area of northern Spain, founded the society after discerning his spiritual vocation while recovering from a wound sustained in the Battle of Pamplona. He composed the Spiritual Exercises to help others follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. In 1534, Ignatius and six other young men, including Francis Xavier and Peter Faber, gathered and professed vows of poverty, chastity, and later obedience, including a special vow of obedience to the Pope in matters of mission direction and assignment. Ignatius's plan of the order's organization was approved by Pope Paul III in 1540 by a bull containing the "Formula of the Institute".

I do further promise and declare, that I will, when opportunity presents, make and wage relentless war, secretly or openly, against all heretics, Protestants and Masons, as I am directed to do, to extirpate and exterminate them from the face of the whole earth, and that I will spare neither age, sex, nor condition, and that I will burn, hang, waste, boil, flay, strangle, bury alive, these infamous heretics, open up the stomachs and wombs of their women and crush their infants’ heads against the walls in order to annihilate their execrable race. That when the same cannot be done openly, I will secretly use the poison cup, the strangulation cord, the steel of the poniard, or the leaden bullet, regardless of the honor, rank, dignity or authority of the persons whatever be their condition in life, either public or private, as I at any time may be directed to so do, by any agent of the Pope, or superior of the Brotherhood of the Holy Faith of the Society of Jesus."

>Ignatius was a nobleman who had a military background, and the members of the society were supposed to accept orders anywhere in the world, where they might be required to live in extreme conditions. Accordingly, the opening lines of the founding document declared that the society was founded for "whoever desires to serve as a soldier of God[a] to strive especially for the defence and propagation of the faith and for the progress of souls in Christian life and doctrine."[4] Jesuits are thus sometimes referred to colloquially as "God's soldiers",[5] "God's marines",[6] or "the Company", which evolved from references to Ignatius' history as a soldier and the society's commitment to accepting orders anywhere and to endure any conditions.[7] The society participated in the Counter-Reformation and, later, in the implementation of the Second Vatican Council.

In 2013, Jorge Mario Bergoglio became the first Jesuit Pope, taking the name Pope Francis.

About North America
The conversation was stilted, as one might expect with the struggle for the possessed person’s soul, but the gist was that Plinio was randomly “breaking people's computers so that they can’t go on the internet” and that he is changing the climate and was “therefore the author of the climate change, and the increase of heat. It is Plinio who does everything,” according to the devil as channeled through the exorcist. Then, the devil predicts that a meteorite will crash into the Atlantic ocean. “North America will disappear,” he warns.

About (((Pope Francis)))
The devil then turns to the fate of Pope Francis, which Tornielli was able to transcribe and translate from the somewhat distorted video. “The Vatican? It's mine, mine!” the devil says to the exorcist, according to Tornielli’s transcript. “The pope does whatever I want, he's stupid! He obeys me in everything. He is my glory, he is willing to do everything for me. He serves me.”
Then the devil, again as channeled by the exorcist for the Heralds of the Gospel, predicts that the pope will perish, not during a voyage, but at the Vatican. “The pope will die falling,” the exorcist’s transcript says quite clearly.

Catholicism esteems human tradition & culture over that of the ways of God, its basis is rooted upon human decrees, they are unable to argue from the Bible, instead it has to rely on Vatican-sanctioned histories, they use idols, pray through false intercessors like Saints & Mary, even though Jesus alone is the way to the Father, they instituted pagan festivals & holidays, and even presumptuously assume the power to remit sin. In their Catechism they tampered with God's Law -- removed the 2nd commandment, altered the 4th, and split the 10th to preserve the # (fulfilling Daniel 7). The history of Catholicism has been one of Satanic abuse employing political & martial power to exert their will. The only Biblical argument they use for Popery is "Peter is the rock of the church" yet that isn't a justification for Papal hierarchical arrangement whatsoever -- read the books written by Peter, he never in anyway condones such an architecture. Upon the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus, the Church was small, far-flung, and fragile, and so Peter was raised up to clarify questions and give context to the example laid by Christ to the early church -- so yes, in this way the "church was built on the rock of Peter" which is to say, his teachings & clarifications -- not the man or any man -- Jesus is the foundation on which we must place our faith completely.
Orthodox have many of the same problems as Catholicism.
Faggot-sects of Jesuit-infiltrated "Protestantism" have lost their balls and are no longer standing up against the seat of the Antichrist power which is Popery and most still false sabbath. Although the early Reformers didn't agree on much, they got the ball rolling and agreed that Papacy was illegitimate.

14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

John 3:13-21King James Version (KJV)

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

The idea that the way of God is entirely contained within the Bible is flawed. There is nothing in the Bible that condones Sola Scriptura. The New Testament didn't just come up out of nowhere. It is five short biographies that focus more on the life of Jesus as opposed to his teachings, a series of letters written by St Paul that by nature only address specific aspects of teachings that were troubling the recipients of the letters, and a piece of apocalyptic prose with an ambiguous message.
If the Bible was ever intended to be the sole authority, it would have been written in a catechismic style. But it wasn't. Because the Church only compiled it as a help to the faith. Not the faith in its entirety.

The idea that the Catholic Church is a corruption of the faith of the Apostles would have been believable enough in Martin Luthers time. They didn't know how the early Christians worshipped. And only had the Bible to go on. But in the 21st century, with advances in archeology and historical sciences, we now have a better picture of the early Christians. And, as it turns out, the venerated Mary, they believed in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, they had a heirarchy of priests and bishops, they had designated days for prayer and fasting... those weren't all "pagan inventions". We know this by studying Christian tombs and frescoes and studying documents like the Didache and the epistles of Clement (which were a hair away from being included in the Bible, mind you). So the entire premise of Protestantism and "Biblical Christians" falls apart. Why be anything other than Catholic?

The Catholic Church is run by a degenerate ring of pedophiles in dresses ruled over by a socialist. The reason degeneracy is rising is because Europe is more secular and atheist, not because they stopped believing in the stupidity that comes out of the Vatican.
>>
Catholicism is based on the belief that there can only be one church on earth, and they believe that the first pope was the apostle Peter.

Protestant religions began approximately around the creation of the printing press, and the return of literacy to Europe. Because few people could read the Bible, and in many cases, Catholics forbade reading the Bible, the Catholic church created all manner of rules to extort money from the populace (which they used partially to fight Islam's incursions). When Europeans eventually read the Bible and compared Catholicism to Jesus's teachings, they weren't happy. Enter Martin Luther.

Differences Rundown:
1. Catholics believe that you can only be forgiven for sings if you request forgiveness through the Catholic church. Protestants just ask God directly. There was a time when Catholics taught that the payment of money would absolve sins.

2. Catholics created a new stratum of heaven called "purgatory." You were sent here to be cleansed of sin. However, a simple *large* payment to the Church would release you from purgatory. When protestants/literates pointed out that the Bible doesn't mention purgatory, they were deemed heretics.

3. Catholics worship and pray to dead humans that they consider holy. For example, Mary (the mother of Jesus) is considered holy and worthy of worship. To protestants and other literates, she is just another dead human - however nice and devout she may have been.

4. Catholics created 'fanfiction' about Jesus and Mary and required their followers to consider it Christianity. One of my favorites is to point out to Catholics that Jesus had a brother, James. Catholics were told that Mary was a virgin and *remained* a virgin, yet the bible quite clearly states that she had another child named James - who at first didn't believe in Jesus, and then did.

There is nothing in the Bible that is wrong. It was compiled by the Church after a thorough process of discerning the books origin.

But like I said, the Bible is a series of biographies and letters that could not possibly be an exhaustive documenting of the faith.

Christianity came about at a time when ideas were passed on through oral tradition. The Church has done a good job of preserving that tradition, as the historical sciences have shown
>>

The Catholic Church never forbade reading the Bible. That is a slanderous lie and not based in historical fact.

You are probably thinking of Catholic prohibitions on translating the Bible without Church approval. And that was in place only to stop people from purposely mistranslating the Bible to fit their own agenda. There were many Church authorized translations of the Bible into venecular languages. It just didn't happen a lot because back in those days, the only people who could read were scholars. And all scholars understood Latin anyway.

As for you points, the idea that Priests can grant absolution is taken from the Bible. Jesus gave his apostles the authority to forgive sin. The authority needed to be granted, so no one can just "go directly to God".

The idea of purgatory was gleaned from the belief of early Christians who prayed for the dead. If the dead needed prayer, then there must be an intermediary state between death and salvation.

The Catholics believe that they can ask anyone in the communion of saint i.e. anyone living or dead who is in Christ, to pray for you in the form of intercession. You can ask your friends to pray for you, you can ask your pastor to pray for you, you can ask your dead relatives to pray for you... anyone. Because being dead does not stop one from being Christian. Some people just like asking for intercession from the heroes of the faith.

The last point is a case of "it's not in the Bible, so it can't be true" thinking, which is flawed. The early Christians believed in the perpetual virginity of Our Lady. The Bible does say Jesus had brothers, but it doesn't specify whether they were his full brothers or half brothers. Having half brothers was far more common back in those days then it is today. This, combined with the belief of the early Christians, lead us to believe in the doctrine.

>Orthodox and Catholic have nearly identical beliefs on theology and salvation
This is a Papist lie. Orthodox and Catholic beliefs on theology and salvation are very different. For example, Catholics believe that Jesus' death was a ransom paid to God for our sins (consequently you have the development of doctrines like purgatory and the need for indulgences, and theology about victim souls, and "miracles" like the stigmata), whereas Orthodox believe that God doesn't need a ransom to be paid for our sins and that sin is really our separation from God so by becoming one of us in the man Jesus Christ and overcoming the consequence for sin (death), God bridged this separation. But yeah, keep lying that Catholicism isn't a Satanic lie.

1 Timothy 2:5King James Version (KJV)
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Luke 16:19-31King James Version (KJV)
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

>Do you mean that God's word is incomplete? Genuinely want to know

Yes. The deposit of the faith comes both from teachings on faith and morals from the Church and the Scripture. The Scripture was developed after the Church structure had already been established. If we look solely to scripture alone we would be powerless in solving disputes such as Aryanism because we don't all come to valid conclusions on how to interpret scripture.

Ezekiel 18:20King James Version (KJV)
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Hebrews 9:27King James Version (KJV)
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

1 John 5:16King James Version (KJV)
16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Romans 2:3-9King James Version (KJV)
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

I'd laugh at this guy if he claimed that James was Jesus' brother as proof of Mary's lost virginity.

Somebody didn't do their googles. James is Jesus' half brother through Joseph.

Then we do it again, because we will be forgiven everything if we pray.

No it's not. Why do you need to lie on the Internet?

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 615), citing the Council of Trent:
>Jesus atoned for our faults and made satisfaction for our sins to the Father.
Meaning that God the Father required satisfaction for our sins, but Orthodox do not believe this.

>You are misinterpreting the doctrine of indulgences.
No I'm not. I said that the doctrine of indulgences and the theology of victim souls developed because Catholics believe in penal substitution (i.e. someone performs some action to make satisfaction for the sins/temporal punishments of another).

1. Catholics believe in the authority given by Jesus to the apostles for the forgiveness of sins yes. When we commit a mortal sin we separate ourselves from God and we need forgiveness through the ordinary means which are baptism and reconciliation.

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. 18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah.[6] – Matthew 16: 13-20

2. Purgatory is believed to be a state in which any attachment towards personal sin we have at the time of our deaths is purged. There are references by Peter in his Epistles about a firey purging by the light of the lord. The rejection by Protestants of Purgatory is mostly based on the rejection of the 7 deutero canonical texts from the Greek Septuagent which were the Jewish scriptures used for the Old Testament until the protestant reformation. 2 Maccabees also has discussion of prayer for the dead for you other point. The Catholic Church never taught as doctrine that one could by their way to Heaven through indulgences, monetary indulgences are a form of good works that aids in our salvation and relieves our temporal suffering. Good works also being something the Protestants reject as necessary for our salvation.

3. In 2 Maccabees we see the Israelites offering prayers for the salvation of dead soldiers who died with evidence of some Pagan superstitions. This is the primary reason we Catholics offer prayer for those in purgatory. cont...

In the olden days, the firstborn son of a woman had special significance.
That's why "firstborn" is emphasized
Not because it was distinguishing him from any other later born children.
>>
>>137037099
cont. The souls of the Saints are the souls of those members of the body of Christ who have been separated to us in death of their earthly bodies. Largely on the basis of texts from the Greek Septuagent we ask these people to pray for us in keeping the with the notion from the New Testament (included in your Protestant bible) that the prayers of a holy person are especially effective. Catholics nor Orthodox ever worship Saints we pray to them as a means of communication. But again this comes down to a Protestant misconception in what worship properly is, worship is not simply praying and singing it is also observing the sacraments and celebrating and attending the holy liturgy. Many Protestants today do not even attempt a liturgy just offer large prayer and song meetings.

4. James the brother of the Lord is pointed at being a son of Joseph Mary's husband who was a widower. There is no evidence of Mary and Joseph having children together. The use of the language "brother" is also somewhat disputed as the original Aramaic used would refer more to a close relation of some sort but not necessarily a blood brother as we understand it. But asking a Protestant to accept something outside the bible is liking asking a Muslim to draw a picture of Mohammed they just won't do it.

Pretty much. Protestants gave up on real Christianity after WWI. Catholics formed the Legion of Decency which dictated to Hollywood studios what they could put in cinema. Then then after WWII the Catholic Church was taken over by Kikes.

Because Catholics believe ***both*** of these things. Sin original and personal are a separation from God and Jesus sacrificed his body for us on the cross. If the Orthodox do not believe this why do they observe the Eucharist?

>No I'm not. I said that the doctrine of indulgences and the theology of victim souls developed because Catholics believe in penal substitution (i.e. someone performs some action to make satisfaction for the sins/temporal punishments of another).

But indulgences do not gain us salvation, without grace provided by the sacraments we cannot be justified.

We didn't let Kikes promote degeneracy in TV and in the movies because the Catholic Church would boycott any film which did something as minor as using the word "damn" in the script. Then Vatican II happened and they became kike sycophants who did nothing.

this, America was always an evil racist nation. Christianity is one of the driving forces of diversity, and this is a good thing. I believe all Christians should recognize that Jews are God's Chosen People and that we need to let in those refugees!
The time for bigotry has long been over. We are all brothers in Christ, even Muslims!

>Because Catholics believe ***both*** of these things.
That's nice. Well Orthodox don't believe ***both*** of these things, which is exactly might point (the beliefs are not identical). Jesus did not die because God the Father required satisfaction for sin. Sin is the separation from God and Jesus came as a man so that by becoming one of us we would be reunited with God (not because God needed us to "settle our accounts" with him by a "worthy sacrifice"). Jesus' death and resurrection conquers our deaths as well because we are united to him.

>why do they observe the Eucharist?
Mystical union with God and one another, and a remembrance of what Jesus accomplished for us.

>But indulgences do not gain us salvation
That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that the Catholic belief in penal substitution (Jesus died as a sacrifice to settle our sin-debt with God the Father) is what lead to the development of (and necessity for) doctrines involving taking on punishments for one another (e.g. pray for someone in purgatory to reduce their temporal punishment, all that bullshit from Catholic saints about being a victim soul or bearing retarded sufferings for others like St Francis/Padre Pio and their stigmata or all that bullshit about looking at the Divine Mercy image to gain merits to add to the already infinite merits that Jesus has that can be applied to the salvation of souls). Basically the idea that God is an accountant instead of a loving Father.
