Just look at all your local gyms and see what they have to offer. Ring a few of the clubs and meet with the instructors. If the instructors have a military or security background (pmc or bouncer) it's usually a good sign.

Also fittest guy at my muay thai gym was in his late 40s. It's never too late. 24 is nothing. Just don't waste your time with anything where you don't actually hit and get hit - boxing, muay thai or MMA lad. You won't regret it.

Every good martial arts class will welcome into the fold. A good teacher will be keen to see you turn from a meek dog into a wolf.
They will be used to people showing up who are uncomfortable being aggressive and getting them to show their aggression. A good club will do this.

I've seen flabby 35+ year olds show up, who have never shown any aggression in their lives turn into fulll blown murder machines in the course of a little over a year. It requires motivation and dedication though.

I did but I started using it on the kids at school so I wasn't allowed any more, went boxing when I was a bit older though.
