I'm starting to think the Bill of Rights was a bad idea. It doesn't actually give us freedom. Only the illusion of freedom. In theory, if the government violates your rights, you can take them to court and have them punished, but in practice, it's extremely difficult to do so, and the punishment for government agents who violate the Constitution is extremely lenient. If we're going to live under an authoritarian rule anyway, why not be honest about it instead of pretending to be free?
We're told that autocratic regimes are hell on earth, but history proves that's not true. Hitler and Stalin both had overwhelming popular support in Germany and Russia respectively, and the Nazis even had widespread popular support in many of the countries they invaded. By contrast, the United States is generally considered to be a more or less democratic society, but the US government has approval ratings often in the single digits. People are not happy when they are free. People are happy when they have an authority figure to make all their decisions for them. People are natural conformists.

Just like the Law, it didn't lead from sin, but exposed it and thus made it increase.

Every international human rights organization I know of says the USA is more or less a democracy.

It seems unlikely that every international human rights organization in the world would be part of a huge, pro-American conspiracy.
