Assuming no one comes to NK's rescue, specify acceptable losses (civ + mil) for the following belligerents:
>North Korea
>United States of America
>South Korea
>Japan
In the event of a war with North Korea, this is pretty much how it'd happen:
>NK detonates nuclear devices, launched by artillery, over the DMZ for their EMP effect, knocking out as many electrical systems as possible
>NK starts shelling the DMZ hard, making holes in the fortifications and minefields
>On the SK/US side, the DMZ is NOT a permanent fortification; it is a fortification that must last only 7 minutes. SK and US soldiers will hold their "Tomb" for 7 minutes and then retreat. At that time, the USAF will be in the air from Okinawa and the Pacific ready to kill everything that moves in the DMZ.
>The real, hidden line of fortification behind the DMZ and a few miles ahead of Seoul is activated.
>North Koreans use their thousands of tunnels to pour entire brigades into South Korea under the DMZ; North Korean Special Forces begin their campaign of terror to attack schools, power plants, malls, etc.
>North Korea probably dumps tons of Sarin and other substances, via artillery, on Seoul. Despite prior evacuations, death toll is already in the millions.
>U.S. starts spending close to $1,000,000,000,000 in bunker-busting munitions to wipe-out the hundreds of heavily fortified North Korean bases in the mountains.
Beyond that it's divergent, but that's how all the war planners expect it to start.

is this OPLAN 5027-74?

Could NK really move that kind of troops and supply it without SK and US military intelligence picking it up?
Do they even have the logistics to do it at all?
NK should know that even if they managed to overrun the SK, they would still be bombed to oblivion by the US, and that's a pretty big if considering the state of the NK and SK army

They've been doing the tunnel thing for years. The US has been playing with anti-tunnel weaponry.
The Israelis have been given quite a bit of money for this purpose. Google 'underground iron dome'.
