"The Basic Writings of" Carl Jung had some good gossip about the nature of man and woman in their relations to the anima/animus. To that extent you could probably just look up the chapters/his writing on the topic of the animus. Either way it didn't really teach me anything I didn't "know," it merely corroborated my a priori observations. But to that extent it was still a worthwhile read.

Many, if they feel they do not have the power, skills, or means to gain what they desire will either attempt to manipulate others into giving them what they want, or destroy whatever is the closest to overcoming what they have. They differ from men in that men mostly compete with their male peers, and will gain a better sence of self and esteem through self improvement using their competitors as markers. Women however find it much easier to strike down any compeditor and sabotage others than improve. Something between crabs in a bucket and ends justifying the means. They are a vicious combination of tactical and petty if not taught to temper themselves with logic and sence of standards by a strong authority figure. If women are not taught from a young age both skills and morals to be best woman and human beings that they can be (as well as the pride of doing such over the vanity of other sources), they devolve into one of the most destructive forces seen in human history: the unbridled fury of the depravity of human nature.
Tl;dr: Women are petty, emotional, and don't just want more, but want more than anyone else.
