Yeah, they did. Yorkshire is like this if I remember correctly. It's not that "they wuz vikings" or anything in any one region, but that the proportion of their ancestors from scandi are higher. For example, a generic english person will be like a% anglo-saxon, b% celt, c% norman, d% scandinavia etc. and those regions will have a higher percentage scandinavian
