Ok, some anon posted this and I know I'm a little tried but I'm missing something. Any help countering this argument?
and yes I post at Sci but so far no explaination.
Of all the slide threads, this one be the slidest
>i don't know the diference between the stellar and sidereal day
brainlet
because the world spins literally 365 and 1/4 times around the sun. It doesn't go around the sun once a day. What the fuck kind of retarded picture is this.

well, if the earth was stationary he would be correct.
but, because the earth revolves around the sun it works.
the earth spins just a bit slower than 24 hours worth of rotation on it's axis.
the revolution around the sun literally helps spin the earth just fast enough to be able to match it up.
and it matches up because man has measured it and created the system of metered time to match up since we base time around the position of the sun.
whoever thought that pic was some smart shit is a fucking idiot and doesn't understand simple physics or simple human understanding of time.

This. It's LITERALLY astronomy 101.
Thank you for the explaination...banter not really appreciated but to each his own.

Yep.

The earth rotates in 23 hours and 56 minutes, not 24 hours. Our day is aligned to the sun and 24 hours to prevent what you see in the pic. Our calendar is aligned to the solstices and equinoxes the same way. Otherwise our seasons would drift
