We don't need to prove anything to NK. The reason they launch missiles in our direction is because they have something to prove.

Because the U.S. knows that it's possible to defeat Kim Jong-un without launching a single missile. You have to understand the mind of a tyrant; Kim can't do shit. America knows it, Europe knows it, and the rest of Asia knows it. The only people who don't know it are the North Korean population. With their economy going further into the shitter, Kim has to maintain an image of authority to not just his people, but also his army--especially the generals and high ranking officials.

If he shows any sign of weakness, he could easily get eaten alive by a coup d'état from his own military. He won't do shit, because he is more afraid of his own countrymen than the U.S. This is just another game of chicken, and Trump is making the right call by calling his bluff.

Kim can only bluff so far, and when he finally pusses out, his authority in his own country will go to the dogs. And even if he does strike Guam, Japan, or even S.Korea, it will only take a matter of days to deal with him without the use of ground forces.
