What do you think about Brave browser? Its already faster than Chrome and Mozilla.
>>
Pretty good, but its based on chromium so it still has upstream ties to google, if it ever goes proprietary it'll be garbage though.

I've just tried it out. It has a lot of potential.

Im using it. Its way faster than firefox. Layout is great too.
Im a mobile fag so i dont know too much about settings.
My only complaint is having to open a tab to view a webm where as firefox it will play in the post.
>>
>>136848891
It's buggy and laggish on my laptop. I use it though. Got sick of Firefox's SJW messages on the home page.
>>
Can it sync bookmarks to a phone? Or does that defeat the purpose of a private browser?

Just remember everyone shilling this browser has vested interest. They probably own BAT, whos ICO was pretty massive and made almost no one any money. Just a heads up. I wouldn't be surprised if most of these people are coming from /biz/ trying to recoup their loss by taking advantage of the google hate.
>>
>>136851110
/pol/'s interest came from Brendan Eich getting the boot at Mozilla.
>>
>>136850377
>they want to sell ads
Uhh no? By default the browser has no ads and no tracking.

You can enable ads if you want and you get paid in credits for watching the ads or browsing stuff. Or you can donate credits directly to the websites you want to support.

In no case they "sell ads" or "manage them". In fact, the long term goal is to stop the ad revenue systemonwebsites.
>>
>>136851234
Either way, Logic dictates you shouldn't trust anyone with vested interests. Brave browser is new, its closed, and it's admittedly data mining you (yes, read all about it). I only bring a word of caution.
>>
>>136850473
Ditto.
Been using it for a month or so. It ain't bad.
>>
>>136851512
Fair enough. Just keep in mind the browser is still green. But this is a browser made by people resenting SJW in digital monopolies. The power of butthurt from Brendan Eich (and his skills as developer) should be enough to at least keep an eye on this.

Im sure installing this browser in every new pc I configure for my friends and family so they dont have to deal with adblockers and noscript.

But Im the one who started this thread m8

Last election was pretty close, do you want in the next election for Google to refine their censorship and data manipulation methods so you cant win an election again?

This is not about use this or that browser anymore. This is about Google/facebook/twitter must be stopped. We are at /pol/ for fuck's sake. We know about the DNC leaks with Google people saying they will help all their could Hillary to win. We know how Twitter censored every pro Trump trending hashtag and only showed the pro Hillary ones.

We got lucky and won. Next time we wont be so lucky.

>Ads are what makes websites possible you leeching turds.
No, support is what makes websites possible. There are many websites that I flat out don't wish to support, and some that I would rather support in other ways (ie; helping host) than dealing with obnoxious advertisements. The bottom line is, its my computer, my bits, and my decision which to download to it. That's freedom of choice, which is about as capitalist as it gets.
>>
>>136859193
Actually no, it cuts the middleman and transfers money from audience to content creators directly.

Content creators will keep getting money.

The only difference is that youtube wont be able to censor you for having incorrect opinions on your videos for example. I hate to put this faggot as example, but check pewdiepie. He is one of the goldengoose for youtube and EVEN HIM (the biggest content creator on youtube and money generator) was victim of google forcing a PC policy upon him. They banned him from Youtube Red and his stuff is pretty much harmless, he is not alt-right. And if pewdiepie was banned, whats for the rest of the smaller users? They have all video content creators by their balls forcing them not ot move away from their marxist propaganda.

This is all ideological, and stems from the latest Google happening. The devs behind both Chrome and Firefox are ultra-SJW, and thus it's only natural for /pol/ to seek out browsers with devs whom are neutral.

As of today, Brave is the better option, unless you or anyone else gives us a legit reason for them not to be.
>>
>>136854644
extensions are officially unsupported. There's a flag you can set during compilation (if you're willing to build from source) to enable experimental chrome extension support, but I haven't tried it out yet.
>>
>>136857704

Two types of digital currency, coins which are essentially competitors with Bitcoin (Ethereum, Litecoin, etc.) and "tokens" which are "backed" by a coin (BAT Basic Attention Token, backed by Eth).

Tokens are more closely tied to the fortunes of the backing coin, something like a Waves-backed token is almost guaranteed to be worthless because Waves is not worth much, but Eth-backed tokens can and have done well. Iirc BAT is floating under $.50, compared to Eth at $300+ or BTC at over $3k.

If you're reaping BATs for doing nothing but browsing with ads turned on, it's literally free money in a worst-case scenario, even if it crashes to $.05 that's $.05 you didn't have before. You also gain a ticket of speculation that the Brave+BAT ad revenue system might someday become a serious challenger to the Google AdSense monopoly. The more people that use BAT, the more trading velocity, the more likely it is to reach a new value plateau or "support" point. The more popular it becomes with hosts, advertisers, and viewers, the more trade velocity it will generate.

Considering the only cost is installing the browser and creating an eth wallet, there's not much risk to try and get in on the speculation, I did both months ago but haven't used brave since because BAT wasn't integrated at the time

The longer we use services like Jewoogle, JewTube, Skype, and JewBook means we're only ensuring that SJWs, Marxist, and revisionists who want to destroy the West out white guilt will only have more resources to do so. We need to back alternative web services and a little learning curve to switching from Chrome is a small price to pay when looking at the bigger picture.

I installed it today, been using it for a couple hours now, it's not bad but it needs to be refined big time. Browser window inexplicably resizing, smooth scroll lagging everything, scrolling occasionally fucks up, tabs are weird in that when you close one it goes to the one you were looking at before instead of the one to the right of it (super specific but annoying regardless); there's potential here, there really is, but for sheer usability and practical usage I find Chrome much better (proceed to have /g/ shit on me and recommending some queer arcane esoteric version of Opera).
