Every time I get worried about where we are headed towards - Climate Change, Over Population, WW3, Nukes, etc. I check out what's going on in the pop culture, and suddenly I become numb to it all. I figure, perhaps WW3 is not such a bad idea.
Then I open the news and see Google employee is fired for saying the truth. And then see who the president of the most power country on Earth is. And I become even number. I realize that, as George Carlin used to say, we are watching a freakshow in front row seats. Then it turns into entertainment. Down there somewhere there is still some empathy, and some concern, and perhaps a flicker of hope. But the realist in me sees no hope. So why not enjoy the freakshow?
