The optimal level for organizing human prosperity and happiness is neither the individual nor the state, but the community.
Community alliances in mutual self interest (states) work best in moderation as well, with optimal state size between 1 and 10 million people.
States should be free to organize however they like: white ethnostate, NAP ancap, maoism, feminist theocracy ALL WORK JUST FINE when practiced on this scale (as long as people who dont like their state are free to leave, or organize a secession if numerous enough)
Interstate agreements should be limited to mutual defense with physically neighboring countries.

states can and should secure their borders. Being able to leave does no good if noone will take you, but theres almost always someone looking for more people.
