Ive always disliked RATM, even when i considered myself more liberal. Morello is a good guitarist but he does the same thing over and over, and hes really never done anything fantastic. Hes used some cool effects, but thats pretty much it. Zack is a one trick pony. He gets really old really fast. I dont really like political music that doesnt have any subtlety. I think its just hacky to stand on one side of music listeners and say "fuck you" to the other sides of listeners. Radioheads "Go To Sleep" i think is a good example of political music that doesnt try to jack off one side of the spectrum (even though in real life thom yorke is an insufferable lefty). The way i always heard it, its just trying to highlight the craziness of politics and how people fight back and forth.
