What does /pol/ think about the U.S prison system? Should it be less about punishment and more about rehabilitation?
The current prison system is a money pit because of prison corporations having the ability to manipulate the laws for their benefit, because we have an evil big govt
The prison system should be about enacting the correct punishment to fit the crime, meaning more execution and fewer lifetime tax leeches. Rehabilitation is a noble secondary objective

It doesn't really matter since you can't rehabilitate niggers.
we should send hard criminals to prison island to fight to the death in gladiator games. those who commit lessor crimes should be rehabilitated and fined, but not housed on the taxpayers dime

I only know one ex-con, but he went to easy prison. He hated it and hated what he had become, so he finished his GED and went to community college when he got out. So I guess it works for people who want to reform. The high security prisons are something else though.
