How exactly did the Russians "hack" the election?

Aren't the voting machines vacuum tube relics from the 1980's with no internet connection?

http://fortune.com/2017/07/31/defcon-hackers-us-voting-machines/

>The idea behind this effort was "to raise awareness and find out for ourselves what the deal is. I'm tired of reading misinformation about voting system security," conference founder Jeff Moss noted, according to USA Today.

>Some participants physically took machines apart to find and document vulnerabilities. Others gained remote access over Wi-Fi and were able to upload malware to them. DefCon organizers aggregated some 30 voting machines—including those made by Diebold, Sequoia, and WinVote—to make up its first-ever Voter Hacking Village, and turned them over to the pros on Friday to work their magic

>While there is no proof that actual vote count was compromised by the Russian efforts, there hasn't been much research to see if that could happen. Danish researcher Carsten Schürmann used a 14-year old exploit in Microsoft (MSFT, -0.59%) Windows XP operating system to gain remote access to one unpatched machine within 90 minutes. That access would enable him to change the vote tally from anywhere, according to CNET.

Let me reiterate that last bit.
>Gained Remote Access
>That ... would enable him to change the vote tally from anywhere, according to CNET.

They hacked the voter rolls which are far less secure and used them to target voters in key swing states with bot targeted propaganda on social media. They also hacked the DNC and DCCC and gave all that information to their opponents.

Off course it's all bullshit and a liberal talking point. What it comes down to is, even liberals have to admit, is that even if there was any "hacking" it was of Podesta's emails and releasing information about the corrupt DNC to wikileaks. In other words, the Democrats are crying foul about their own corruption being revealed, thus making a negative impression upon voters and thereby influencing the election outcome. That's fucking all.
>>
>>136722129
Kek, Obama was so confident to say before the election that there was no way the election could be hacked. Well, that was when concerns were raised about Soros conglomerates owning the voting machine companies.
>>
>>136722129
People hacking machines at a convention is not the same as people hacking machines in an election.
>>136718622
They didnt. They used propaganda techniques based on voter registration. The funny thing is, that during the beginning of the election, russia was on Hillary side until they noticed she was going to lose, so they switched sides. Not because they liked trump or disliked hillary, nut because they want to corrupt our democratic proses as a whole.
The way that voting works in our country, the only way you could rig an election is by forcing people to vote for a specific person. Our voting system is not 100% electronic yet.

You're right.

They'd be government sponsored with teams of specialists with a much greater array of tools and technologies not available to the general public.

They'd have days to hack the machines.

the states, and even counties, all have different voting machines. CNET is full of shit, like most of the (((media))).
>>
The Russians hacked the election by making public some internal Democrat communications. It was as much of a hack as torrenting is theft - it's just normies misusing words in an attempt to swing public opinion.

The claims that the russians actually hacked any database or voting machine does make you wonder, though, why they would hack an election only this once. With the Syria conflict already raging during Obama's re-election campaign, did the Russians really consider Mittens a worse option than a second-term Obama, enough to not use their mad haxx0r skillz?
>>
>>136723712
>I fucking wish we would go back to a purely paper ballot system.

we should do what we did in Iraq, dip their fingers in a purple ink that would not wash off for a couple of days. that would prevent democrats from going from polling place to polling place.
>>
>>136718622
I dont see how it even matters weather they hacked it or not, since mexishits and niggers with no ID are able to vote. Not to mention the fact that theres no actual system to prevent people from voting serveral times.

Also read the article, DefCon didn't have "One" voting machine they hacked.

What in the fuck.

Do you know how big a problem voting fraud actually is you dumbfuck?

https://www.brennancenter.org/issues/voter-fraud

There's a fucking tiny number of people that actually commit voting fraud. The problem with ID laws and the such is that it's a much BIGGER problem for our republic if people with the right to vote are denied.
>>
>>136724640
Most of the machines at the convention are prototypes so the manufacturers can make them better. Most digital machines aren't connected to the internet. They print out papers which people have to tally.
If what you're saying is true, we should have had all of the election results right after voting ended.
That's not how it works

Honestly this is one area I support federalization.
This is such a stupid easy problem to solve from an engineering standpoint.

Each vote should be tied to a SSN. No SSN, no vote. Then on election day, we flag all votes wherein a SSN was used twice. We send the owner of said SSN a subpoena in the mail to show up to their local court and state which candidate they truly chose. They'd present their SSN card and state ID to validate their vote.
Any votes wherein a SSN was used that belongs to someone who is dead, will be discarded.

On election day, we'd know exactly how many votes there are in real-time and know exactly how much fraud was attempted.

The fact that no politicians want to implement such a simple system should tell you all you need to know. (((They))) WANT to be able to pick their candidate. They chose Hillary for this election and are super butthurt that despite all of the fraud and millions of bullshit votes, she still couldn't pull it off.
>>
>>136718622
A large number of voting machines are either purely mechanical (from the 1950s) or paper ballots. I prefer mechanical just because the levers and gears are satisfying.

The answer is that they didn't hack anything, they didn't hack email servers, they didn't hack any computers. All they did was put anti-Hillary stories on Russia Today, aka fake news.

Obama interfered more in Brexit than the Russians interfered in the US Election.

Trump won because the members of the electoral college looked at Hillary and said "absolutely fucking not."

Hillary won the pop vote because of NYC, LA, and a few other hives where niggers live.

The popular vote doesn't fucking matter. Ever.

>Most of the machines at the convention are prototypes so the manufacturers can make them better. Most digital machines aren't connected to the internet. They print out papers which people have to tally.

I like how you're looking for whatever bullshit excuse you can latch on to.

See
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/computer-expert-some-voting-machines-can-be-directly-hacked/article/2626633
>"The one instance when I was invited to hack a real voting system while people were watching was in Washington D.C in 2010, and in that instance it took less than 48 hours for us to change all the votes and we were not caught," Halderman said about the experiment.

Or:
http://anonhq.com/shocking-american-computer-programmer-testifies-oath-coded-computers-rig-elections-video/

There was also a case in Florida awhile back involving some cybersecurity consultant hacking the voting machines and contacting officials about their vulnerabilities.

Last I heard the FBI was looking to prosecute him though.

>Trump won because the members of the electoral college looked at Hillary and said "absolutely fucking not."

And look how fantastic a president he's turning out to be.

Lowest approval rating at this point in his presidency than any other president in history.

On course for being the laziest president in history with his vacation days.

Being investigated by a special counsel, the house of his campaign manager raided, his 17 cabinet picks combined have more net worth than a third of Americans.

He's dumping US taxpayer money by the boatloads into his properties every time he visits his golf course, tower, Mar-A-Lago.

He is corrupt, petty, unstable, and treasonous.

The only good thing about his election is that it reveals the extent of the rot in our political institutions, we need to tear down the electoral college. It does nothing.
>>
>>136726587
>No, neither does anyone else, because every time in the past there has been attempts to investigate voter fraud, the Democrats cry MUH RACISM and Republicucks back down. But now we'll see what Kobach's electoral integrity commission uncovers

Oh come the fuck on. Sources, please?

Because we have investigated voter fraud, and I'd expect it's more likely Republicans would shout bloody murder over any investigations because it would reveal the full extent of how bankrupt an idea their "voter ID laws" are.

You want to deal with voting fraud? Take a close fucking look at gerrymandering.

How the fuck is the majority of the house overwhelmingly Republican when they've been losing the popular vote by the millions?
>>
>>136721601

They dropped it already in their liar's bargaining phase. Now it's """""influence""""", which is also going to be dropped because any casual idiot can see that the leftists influence our elections far more than a foreign agent could, also because the CIA has its fingers in a lot of pies, and assholes. So it's blatantly hypocritical to be bitching about who influenced what election.

I love you nupol spergs, who literally believe you're constantly being raided by people paid to change your mind, even after the election is over. The fact that you never needed to see proof to believe what you were told, and nothing you're shown can ever disprove what you believe, really makes it a kind of religion now, doesn't it? You were literally converted to a cult, without anyone actually having to speak to you face to face. That's truly magnificent, though sadly, you'll never appreciate it.
