They threatened America and its allies constantly, for YEARS, and yet they were allowed to get to the point where they can make a nuclear strike on its enemies.

Can't really put trade sanctions on them. Most you can do is try to browbeat the Chinese or cut off food aid, by which point, they're already waving missiles again. Nobody in the past several administrations had the balls to do that. Certainly not while playing terrorist shell-games in the middle-east.
Better to sort this shit out now and later, before they do actually muster enough smuggled fuel to bomb Seoul first, or hold South Korea hostage for some trade "negotiations."

They have better control than Iran. Iran have tons of jews in their country and hire them to do all sorts of things so it's easy for Mossad to sabotage. There are no Korean-looking jews and few foreigners can move to north korea.
