Cohesive cultural identity? It has too diverse a population now,
Cohesive government? Stretched too thin now with far too many interests at play,
As an empire? militarily the strongest on the planet but cannot seem to do anything with all it's strength, war has irrevocably changed and yet you're still spending into oblivion.
In health? Maybe if you can afford the higher quality treatment, that you have a win in. But at what cost? Your food is so toxic, the vast population cant cook for themselves, and farms cant grow real produce because theyre producing cash crops to stay afloat and so you have to import food at horrible inflated prices from south american failed fiefdoms, every geo-political intrusion the US has made either backfired or got worse past the point of containment or control,
your industry has also irrevocably changed

where is your superiority?
Maybe in the institution of your government but none of the citizens seem to know how it works and your career politicians don't seem care
