Why the fuck do Americans display MM/DD/YYYY?
Its really fucking with me at the moment as i can't change this shit in word on my resume.
Everything America does is right because no other country is globally relevant
Resume? You mean C.V m8

Complete bullshit about Latvia. Only DD-MM-YYYY is acceptable.

It has to do with how we speak. In the U.S. I would say that today is August 7th instead of the 7th of August, which to an American ear sounds awkward. That deviation in our dialect of English affected how we write out dates. Though anyone who doesn't use the ISO standard of YYYY/MM/DD is objectively wrong anyway.

it should be yyyy-mm-dd so sorting the shit alphabetically also sorts by date.
First and foremost, it's partly a reflection of the way we say it out loud, that is: "August 7th, 2017". So, that's how we read it.
I've also read that it's a hold over from a time when America was still predominantly rural/agricultural, as knowing the month took precedence over knowing the day.
Of course, it's a minor difference either way. Europeans sure do chimp out over it nonetheless, though.

Can someone just post the graphic with the bars for the different units showing they don't fucking make sense?
