Can someone redpill me on the Nepalese Civil War? It seems like it was a giant dramatic clusterfuck.
>Nepal ruled by monarchy for hundreds of years
>Chinese begin supplying Maoists in Nepal and India, creating rural insurgency for decades even after they stop espousing Maoism
>Maoists gradually erode power of monarchy, but they still rule and have popular support
>almost the entire royal family dies in an alleged murder suicide of the crown prince Dipendra, unpopular royal of a different family is declared King since everyone is fucking dead
>insurgency grows in response to faulty administration caused by the insurgency, sparking full blown civil war
>people in jeans and sandals with lee enfields shooting at royal soldiers, police pelted with rocks and stabbed in the head with kukri knives
>after ten years of war the monarchy is dissolved and a republic is established, basically surrendering the country to Maoists
>country doesn't get any better, country is basically administered like 1950s China in 2017
I'm assuming the "murder suicide" of the royal family was a Maoist plot. Is there a non-communist party even left in Nepal? Shits depressing.

>tfw the setting of Far Cry 4 is a conservative nation fighting off a US funded maoist insurgency
Really, really wish you could've picked sides instead of being forced to side with commies and basically kill your father for reasons that are barely made clear.
