Honestly, it's easier said than done. I personally cannot make a difference on any level. So it's better to defect and change sides in an expectation of a better standard of living. I don't think this is being selfish.

Because not every Indian is an epitome of that. Proper Sanitation comes under basic hygiene which is a MUST for every person. Besides I live in an Urban area where the living conditions aren't as bad as they were in movies like Slim Dog Millionaire.
