The best solution is to avoid politics at work. And whenever politics are brought up only mention historical fact. And I don't mean facts like "The communists have always failed." Only mention the things communists have done over the years that are more or less indisputable. Quoting the, now public, Soviet denunciations is always fun.

Do not align yourself with any political movement. And do not defend capitalism, it is a term they've devised to lump the different means of production that exist, throughout the world, into one big bucket.
