The earliest reliable written source about Wlachs in Transylvania is from the 13th century iirc. Gesta Hungarorum etc. is not really considered a reliable source by historians, though Romanian historians like to quote it for obvious reasons. But let's just say that if they drew the borders along ethnic lines or we could have kept our gains from the second Vienna award (with some population swaps maybe) there would be no bad blood between us. Of course for some reason neither the West nor Russia were (or are) interested in peace and cooperation between Central European buffer states, and that is the reason other than Communism why this region is shit since the fall of Austria-Hungary.
