There is no sign anywhere that African fertility rates are going down meaningfully. So projections have been consistently too low for Africa.
Africans will at least have 7 billion people in 2100 at a population density comparable to England today.

Well, I am pretty sure that vertical farming in Europe etc. will support at least 6 billion Africans, maybe even 8 billion.
