Why is it more common to go from being left wing to right wing and not the other way around?
No meme answers pls
because reality has a right wing bias
Because the ideology of the left, which stems from a form of marxism, mostly consists of manufactured outrage, sheep mentality and make-believe science all in the name of progressivism© .

The right is a proper analytical worldview, the left is a religion.
If the religion doesn't take early in life it probably never will but leftists otoh can lose faith.

They grow up and start paying taxes

For me, it happend when I realized what the left was preaching was lies, then the evidence for such just started piling up, and I could not hold leftist views any more.

Because the idealism of liberals and lefties fades with age. I'm sure most of us don't remember when we got "redpilled", it was just a culmination of things. But admit it, unless you were farm raised out in the country you were at least left leaning as a teenager if not full normie tier blue pilled liberal.
But that fades with age, with slow realizations about the world. That's why a lot of our parents voted Democrat/Liberal in the 70's, but now that they have children and lived more than 2 decades on this planet they vote Republican/Conservative
Most people who continue to vote liberal in their later years are complete fucking morons and politically illiterate.
I went from liberal to libertarian to left libertarian.
Transitions tend to happen between ideologies with some shared principles, and your core values become clearer. For example, liberalism to libertarianism when I realized that I was a liberal because I wanted government out of people's business, and libertarian to left libertarian when I realized capitalism is propped up by the government.
Social issues have been the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of new right wingers, with the SJWs and whatnot.

People are born/raised left leaning, but they become through experiences or reflection/research right leaning.
