tl;dr China has far better trained and equipped troops, and are more internally stable, but what kills India is the logistics

PRC has built huge highways in the most remote areas of the Tibet Autonomous Region that are up on the sino-indian border, while the indian side is basically just dirt roads.

a lot of PLA doctrine relies on being able to blitz through this area, destroy indian garrisons, and wait it out knowing that the poos couldn't reinforce or mount an effective counter attack there or anywhere else, either by land or sea. The poos know this and are betting on a bunch of new(ish) MRLS and anti air that they're stashing up in these garrisons ahead of time, but imo and in the opinion of most people including people who know way more than me is that these will get trashed by PLAAF air superiority before they even fire on PLA ground units.

The poos also, in their heart of hearts, know this, and know that the paks are their real threat. China doesn't want a fight with india because of the bad publicity a disruption to its """"peaceful rise""""" will bring. So far its a stand off with no incentive on either side. However, if one domino falls somewhere else (india/pakistan, US/china or China/vietnam) China might just take the opportunity to gobble up some clay. Chances are they'd do great, but get bogged down and the indians would throw everything they had knowing the chinese would be on multiple fronts and would be distracted.
