I hate to post this here but I am looking for advice and ideas and thought /pol/ may help.

I am looking for the safest and most secure way to set up a Dead Man's switch. In particular something, that once triggered, could release information out via email or other forms.
Is there any anon here with experience on setting this up or do you have to be a tech wiz to construct one.

Thank you in advance for any anon looking to pitch in.

>Pick a programming language.
>Write a really simple email sending program that sends an email if you haven't given it some sort of input in X days.
>Die.
>X days pass without input.
>Your email is sent.

the most basic way.

There's plenty of wizard tier shit out there if you have the knowledge and resources.

State models for MAD are a good place to start, they can provode a lot of context if you know what you're looking for. Supposedly the US missilier system relies on human auth, but no one really knows if that's the case. Russia's probably doesn't, because they are lazy drunk slavs who get manic over the thought of not having to rely on people.

It really depends on the situation. Assanges is meme tier IMO.

the point of a dead man's switch is that it activates when you haven't reset it for some time, say a week.
a tech pleb can do it.
if it was me i'd use a 5$ linode virtual server and write a perl or php script (cron run once a day) that greps the apache log for some specific URL, parses the latest log line for its date, and if none exists that is less than 7 days old, executes the dead man function.
this is about as simple as it can be done by hand.
>>
>open google
>type github dead man's switch
>go through the results and pick the one fits your needs the most
>>
>get in a car crash
>your dead man switch goes off because you're in the hospital with a broken leg

paint toilet paper roll carboard red, paint small carboard box black and paint numbers on it, glue together in a belt like formation. Paint toilet paper roll black and hold in hand with a painted red top that looks like a button. Walk around town and scream that it's a dead man switch.

Works every time

sorry i skimmed over OP's "safest and most secure". I was just thinking quick and dirty.

using linode is not secure since linode admins will have access to your virtual machine. it has to be your own servers if you want it secure.
if you want it safe you'd use it with *multiple* computers that are solely under your watch.

You don't even need to do all of the convoluted ways the anons here are posting. If there was ever evidence for how much pol over complicates things look ITT.

You guys know you can delay a message being sent in Microsoft outlook right?

If you're paranoid enough to have a dead man's switch in the first place, I'm guessing you wouldn't be trusting proprietary Microsoft software to facilitate it.

how about a way to do it where someone else did all the work and i just have to click a link cuz im a huge fag

It doesn't matter. We already know everything.

You can use any e-mailing suite, most if not all offer this functionality.
>>
>>136185880
Forget about it. Faggots should die out anyway.
>>
>>136185977
If the point is to build a super-secret mechanism for sending highly sensitive information out in the event you're murdered for your involvement in some shady CIA relevant business, then you probably wouldn't want to use any proprietary solution. It's also not like it's difficult to write a program that sends an email, that's basically five minutes of extra learning beyond the point where you know how to write a program that prints hello world to console.

For security you'll need (at least) two servers:

One to log into daily.
And a second one that checks the first.

Else (((they))) will simply take down the server they see you log into every day.

You might also want to use a one time pad with a different password for every day.
Just keep the codes in an encrypted file on a local device.
>>
Just go see an old, reliable, friend without leaving a digital footprint. Or paper. Tell him you'll check in at a date, and if not to follow the instructions.

Never use your dead man's switch to host the full content. Huge liability and most of the DMS sites online are honeypots for content.

Encrypt your content w/ Truecrypt, use a GOOD STRONG password.
Save to multiple USB drives and to multiple online accounts (GDrive, bittorrent, rapidshare, etc). Leave a couple drives with friends+family, tell them it's your bitcoin backup wallet or something.

Where you put your passwords depends on how damaging your information might be and how much risk of accidental release you expect.
http :// www.deadman.io/
http :// www.boomeranggmail.com/l/send-later.html
and/or other android/gmail 'scheduled send' email apps. Add at couple emails that send to yourself early, just in case you are an idiot and forget. Leave at least one hardcopy password in a location that nobody else would go through (porn stash?), in case you think you're coming down with a case of 'whistleblower depresssion syndrome'.

Whatever it is, you probably don't have anything too damaging or you wouldn't be sharing your identity asking the question here.

>paranoid enough to want a dead man's switch
>trusting enough to use a service someone else set up on a public website to implement it
I don't understand. I mean, I could understand being apathetic about security in general, but then why would you bother having a dead man's switch in the first place?

>10 day Coma
>>
>>136188576
I don't know much about comas, but a quick search engine query leads me to believe most don't last longer than 2 to 4 weeks, so you can set it to check in every 30 days and that'll probably cover even that unlikely possibility.

Alternatively, write a web scraping program that checks for your obituary.
