It's strange because Youtube normally would have cracked down on this a long time ago, especially since all these videos rely on copyright infringement levels that shouldn't even be possible

there are at least three separate elements.

1) content producers.

they generally started out producing mediocre content - toy unboxing or makeup how-tos. they enjoyed modest success, and found that one could purchase "fake but organic" views from abroad to increase their payouts. this is still possible to do.

2) view/like/sub generators.

these companies have warehouses filled with devices, manned by little click robots (think the bird-toy homer used on the computer in that one episode where he got too fat and had to work from home) that just focus on whatever sites have paid up for the month. they generate playlists of their customers, and leave gibberish comments to appear "real" and undetectable by simple algorithms.


now.

alone, neither of these activities is insidious - they could keep on doing this for years and nobody would care. why is the terrible content being pushed?

3) the as-of-yet undetermined shadowy group which is behind it all.

at some point, the mediocre content providers are contacted/recruited by (((someone))) and it is my belief/opinion that they are ensnared in some sort of pedo-blackmail web.

this third group directs more pedo/grooming content from the now compromised content providers and directs the click-generators on who to boost the most, and skims profit from the boosted channels.

evidence exists that the channel operators are all getting orders from a third party. the channels are not simple copy-cats...a theme is tested, and within a week or two fifty channels all produce HIGH QUALITY vids with the exact same title and similarly acted out content.

click-generators get angry when the operators don't operate on the correct schedule, and ONLY communicate through comments, suggesting that they aren't working together directly.

It follows a similar (though not identical) one, where it prioritizes the same channel, same name videos, but then delves into thumbnails and bright colors and picks the closest in a search of compatibility, then sets it up on autoplay, so kids get an ipad or sit in front of the TV, put on some dumb frozen video, and eventually they're thrown into this creepy shit by autoplay.

the comments i've seen indicate that the click-farmers know what they're supposed to be aiming at - if you don't have a relationship with them, they all blacklist your channel somehow.

look through the comments - you'll sometimes see "you're not the real ___, you stink" or something like that...disparaging stuff.

there are clones/copycats, but they never do well.

i don't know if there's some technicality which they get by on - some legal fair-use loophole which allows them to strong-arm youtube/disney, or if youtube/disney is complicit. maybe that's all it is - and disney/youtube won't comment because they don't want the bad press, and they can't risk a lawsuit because they know they're cooked.

friends of mine have discussed these videos at length with doctors and psychologists. it is clear to them, in a professional, clinical sense, that these videos ARE damaging, and DO represent traumatic experiences which can be used to shape children in early learning phases.

they are easy enough for you or i to shrug off as garbage, but not so for a young kid.

This is how many of the youtube millionaires got started when the bubble was growing. "Sxephil" definitely used bots to get his videos trending whne he was starting out, there are images of his posts on forums from about 10 years ago asking how to artificially inflate viewcounts.

the number one thing that we can do right now is genuinely and responsibly spread the word that this is real, and it is not just some 'conservitard conspiracy'.

know someone with kids? show them what happens when you start looking for spidey/elsa vids. convince people that it's an easy trap to fall into. show them the vids with nothing but scat pranks and sound effects (no voice acting).

there are several youtube channels with investigators working on this. look them up, like them, share them with friends and family.

know anyone in the local news? encourage them to put together their own news piece, and then share that.

just don't fall into the trap of "oh, this isn't my problem, and it's not real, it's just people going after advertising dollars..."

this shit hurts kids, and it hurts our society, period.


oddly, i don't know if i've seen anyone in california - and the channels i know of in arizona use their own family members as actors - no freelance work there.

the only places i've seen advertise for actors are in canada and in romania.

just don't do anything stupid, no direct confrontation, no threats.

The way all the inappropriate shit is "cleverly" disguised with innocent channel and video names, and happy-bouncy-funtime audio tracks, is something that Youtube should be cracking down on in any case, especially if the videos appear when 'kids' mode is enabled
Also, if advertisers know that half the views come from bots/farms and the other half from toddlers, why would they pay to have their ads shown?
