>Weed will never be decimalized nationally
>becuase the American prison system is for profit and is filled by the criminalization of weed
Yes, criminal marijuana exists for the same reasons microaggressions exist, authoritarians get nervous when there's actually no reason to arrest someone, so by making common things illegal and criminal, they can arbitrarily arrest or punish by their whims.
That's what the authoritarians really want, an excuse to step on those they hate.

Very true. The US police system is based on entrapment and crossing boundaries in hopes of ignorance.
It's a comply or die system down to it's core

>The use, sale, and possession of all forms of cannabis in the United States is illegal under federal law.[1] Cannabis use is illegal for any reason, with the exception of FDA-approved research programs.
>In eight states, Alaska, California, Colorado, Oregon, Massachusetts, Maine, Nevada and Washington, the sale and possession of cannabis is legal for both medical and recreational use
this is confusing, it's unambiguously illegal on a federal level but sometimes legal on a state level? So you can still go to federal prison if you get pulled over and caught with weed in Colorado?
