The setup and software is cheap - amazon will do streaming, and isn't 4chan's software free(?). But someone has to pay for the bandwidth and storage. And, the cleanup (I guess the mods are volunteers). It's not going to /make/ money - who will advertise on it?

That said, I like the 'Brave' browser's idea - you feed it bitcoin, and let it distribute it to sites you use. That's an idea whose time has come imo.

According to Wikipedia youtube originally started with 11 million, maybe some crowdfunding could help. It wouldn't have to be as big as youtube, just big enough to get some ad revenue and new blood.

Just randomly looked for channels, and came after one which had the videos blocked in my country. So switched vpn went back to the channel, and look at that. Youtube started the purging and shadow banning. FUCKING KEK, I'M FURIOUS
