Old fag here (47). I remember watching "In Search Of" or a similar type program during their original network run. The re-enactments of the Unabomber placing the bomb while wearing a white hoodig and aviators was creepy as fuck.

No one ever talks about the inherent fragility of a technological civilization. As it gets more specialized it becomes more and more of risk of falling down if you remove a few pieces.

I think everyone on /pol/ should be at least passably familiar with the writings of the Critical Theorists. Erich Fromm's "Escape from Freedom" is good for a start, as is Adorno's "The Authoritarian Personality." /pol/ is pretty thoroughly against critical theory and any form of leftism, but it does a disservice to not even try to hear the other side at their best, and further understanding of other philosophies often deepens people's understanding of their own.
