Do you guys think genetics engineering could lead to a new form

I think genetic engineering (designer babies) won't happen for a long, long time, if ever.

There are groups of people on this planet, powerful people, who believe they are genetically superior to others. Those people will never allow John Doe to be enhanced as a fetus and completely negate the powerful people's genetic advantage, which has been fostered for millennia.

I think the powerful people will definitely use genetic engineering for themselves, even if it has be secretive, and widen the genetic superiority gap even more.

At the same time, these people will publicly fund "purist" groups who oppose genetic engineering. Combined with the media's staunch stance against it, the common man will be tricked into believing that having 20/20 vision, or being super strong, or curing diseases, or living to be 200 years old, is somehow unethical and wrong.

People go against their own interests all the time. We're easily influenced, especially when 90% of the media tells us something.
