Why did Hitler invade Poland?
One of the biggest reasons was the city of Danzig and the Polish corridor. This area had belonged to Germany before the treaty of Versailles. Hitler wanted the city returned to Germany, as there was still a majority of Germans living there. Hitler proposed a peace plan to Poland in which the citizens of the area would vote on joining Germany. If rejected, Poland would keep the area, however the Germans would be allowed to cross through it into East Prussia. If accepted by the people, the land would return to Germany and the Poles would keep a port in Danzig. Poland refused this. The other big reason was the killings and mistreatment of the German minority in Poland.

An argument against this is that the bodies were actually killed by the Germans after their invasion of Poland. The bodies found by the Germans were in late stages of decomposition, meaning that they had been killed before the invasion of Poland.
Hitler could not take seeing his own people being killed anymore, and Hitler decided to invade Poland and take back German cities by force as well as stopping the murder of ethnic Germans.
France declared war on Germany, not the other way around. Hitler also invaded the Benelux region to go around French defense positions in Alsass.
After the surrender of France, Hitler sent multiple peace offerings to Britain.
