In short, I drove up and joined up with my mother to help question the manager of a lesser known sub franchise store. It was to get to the bottom regarding her missing, and most likely stolen and sold, bracelet.
However, given the duplicity the Chinese manager displayed, acknowledging "seeing" the bracelet and putting it in a safe space, denied any accountability on herself or largely Hispanic emoloyees. Worse, she offered a coupon for subs after placing the blame on customers despite securing it. I suspect that "honest African American boy" working evening shifts might have merely been a sweet talker, but given my experience dealing with Chinese-Hispanic duos, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt with the questioning.
What is the best route to secure this ten year old anniversary bracelet? Or at least, seek where it could have gone and punish the perpetuation of the crime?
I suspect it was sold to cover debt or given, but having an ally to visit a couple of times to see if one of the employees wears it remains one of the more viable short term options.
