Pretend for a moment god isn't real, and then step back and watch everyone's religious practices. It is basically like watching the whole world participate in mass delusions of ceremonies and practices, with no tangible benefit, who then get really upset of your question their beliefs in said delusions. It is pretty unnerving. Good thing god is real though, and not the product of superstitious tales inherited by the same people who thought drinking poop filled water was perfectly safe, right?
