The Libyan system seemed pretty nice actually, though my understanding is more like direct voting on certain things, and local election of representatives on others.
In the long run, direct referenda on all policy decisions is just a stand in for tyranny of the majority.

Yes, I'm sure you'd much rather have rule of a small financial-business superelite composed of things like pharmaceutical companies, telecommunications networks, etc.

There's no short/long answer here, only historical facts to base a viewpoint on.
Democracy is a farce, tyranny rule of the 51%, which is nothing more than mob "justice" masquerading as a form of government.
A republic takes public opinion, puts it into the hands of "qualified" representatives, and, when not usurped by unnecessary constitutional amendments and errant interpretations from judicial leftists, works.

False dichotomy, nigger. If we're going to argue, let's avoid the logical fallacies, shall we?

Here's one then, how is electing representatives via democracy any different than indirect mob rule?
