Is this really true /pol/? I can think of at least 3 things that would be better politically.

Without 60 votes to fully implement his obamacare replacement policy he might as well let it explode since republicans refuse to straight up repeal it.

Nah, that was mostly a bluff.
When providers start going out of business or stop issuing policies in certain areas, and those people HAVE to pay fines for coverage they CAN'T buy, who knows?
One thing's for sure the media will either 1. ignore and deny it, or 2. blame it on Trump and Republicans. Will it work? we'll see.

Obamacare was a stupid compromise with insurance companies by Obama anyway, he more than likely wanted something like single care but the Republicans were too fucking stupid to ever allow something like that to go through because REEEE MUH SOCIALISM even if it would overall save people and the country money and lives.

*single payer care, not single care

every republican in congress at the time voted against Obamacare. notice how we still have it? the republicans in office at the time of the vote weren't enough to stop shit. He easily could have had single payer if he wanted it.

this. democrats had an ungodly super majority in the house and a solid super majority in the senate. along with a democrat president.
>2010 - house
dems: 255
reps: 179
>2010 - senate
dems: 57
reps: 41
inde (swung dem): 2
toss in biden, dems had 60 in the senate.
republican vote didn't matter at all. their vote was worthless. they had no control and couldn't even be opposition. there was nothing they could do. the house and senate was filibuster proof. UNLESS, of course, a DEMOCRAT DIDN'T want to play nice with THEIR party.
universal healthcare FAILED because they couldn't even get DEMOCRAT support for it in the fucking HOUSE. it was the evil republicans putting bad thoughts into their heads either. cause again, the republicans had jack shit control or influence. the democrats could have done anything they wanted.
